The toddlers receive a warm introduction to their first school experience. The teachers in this classroom are trained in separation strategies and foster a welcoming environment that helps children transition to school. Through play, motor, and sensory activities, the children get comfortable with school routines and begin to play with friends. Learning experiences include exposure to shapes, letters, colors, and numbers.
The teachers create a language rich environment to develop the children’s expressive and receptive language skills. Fine motor manipulatives and gross motor movement is woven throughout the daily schedule. Joy and fun are at the foundation of all activities and lessons.
Preschool ( The 3’s)
The children are now ready to take a deep dive into preschool curriculum! They will engage in hands-on experiences to develop creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking.
The teachers in this age group work with the children in developing self-help skills, independence, and responsibility.
Preschool curriculum includes interesting science lessons, fun math activities, and exciting journeys through history. A love for reading is encouraged and letters and their sounds are taught. Judaic and American holidays and traditions are learned and celebrated!
Pre-Kindergarten/UPK
In our Pre-K program, students are exposed to the elementary style classroom to prepare for Kindergarten. Students learn in a structured environment through whole group, small group and individual center based learning activities. To meet reading and writing standards, students are introduced to Wilsons Fundations phonics and writing program.
Here they learn to recognize letters and their sounds while also learning proper letter formation. In addition, math is introduced in counting and representing the number of objects. These standards meet NYS Educational Learning Standards. Books are read daily and connected to learning goals
