There is something very special about being a member of the Melville Jewish Center Sisterhood. Sisterhood provides friendship and camaraderie with other Jewish women in the community – both young and old. The Melville JC Sisterhood is active and involved in many areas of synagogue life. This vital and exciting group of women contribute greatly and provide a wonderful tradition of service to our congregation.
We give Chanukah presents to all the Early Childhood students
We send our college youth gifts at the High Holidays, Chanukah, Purim, and at graduation
We support our Religious School holiday celebrations by providing apples and honey for Rosh Hashanah, flags for Simchat Torah, Hamanschen for Purim, food for the Passover Sedar, and supplies for the Lag B’Omer Picnic
We give gifts and awards to the graduates of our Religious School
Preparing Purim baskets to ensure our congregants satisfy the Purim mitzvah of Shalach Manot
